ISLAMABAD: PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has refused to meet Nawaz Sharif.
Sources said that efforts were underway since the last three to four months for arranging a meeting between Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari but this fourth attempt for brokering a meeting has also met failure. Asif Ali Zardari has ruled out possibility of shaking hands with Nawaz Sharif.
Sources said Asif Zardari thinks Nawaz Sharif is responsible for the prevailing political situation in the country and charter of democracy comes in his mind when he has to serve his interests.
Zardari is of the opinion that he has always been stung. PPP forged charter of democracy but it always remained on the receiving end and Nawaz Sharif always left it at last moment.
Opposition leader Khurshid Shah had said a day before that Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had requested him to arrange his meeting with PPP senior leadership in connection with legislation on delimitations of constituencies.
Earlier Defence Minister Khawaja Asif had admitted that Nawaz Sharif had tasked him with appeasing Zardari but he had failed in this assignment.
