Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Around 3000 posts are lying vacant in 423 Federal Educational Institutions in Islamabad under Federal Directorate of Education.
According to sources, permanent teachers are to be hired on 1000 posts among these 3000 vacant. posts The Federal Ministry for Capital Administration and Development Division is sleeping for the last few years and is not ready to take any initiatives to fill the vacant posts.
The government institutions are also facing shortage of staff and teachers, hence, the students are being affected badly in terms of their studies .
Approval were given to hire around 9500 permanent teachers in 2009, however, only 8500 teachers were hired, hence, 1000 posts have yet to be filled in.
An official on condition of anonymity said that overall 3000 posts are lying vacant due to which the performance of schools is going bad to worse with every passing day. .
In order to overcome shortage of staff, over 2000 daily-wagers were induced two years back, who are also waiting to be regularized, however, due to lethargic attitude of CADD Ministry, the education standard of Islamabad educational institutions is declining to lowest ebb day by day. .
According to documents available, there are several schools where one teacher is teaching to the 5 to six students, while there are such other schools where a single teacher is teaching 80 students.
