Rawalakot: (Parliament Times) While denouncing in strong terms the Indian forces unprovoked firing across the line of control, the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Ahmed Khan has said that India’s shelling aimed at targeting civilian population on the LoC was a flagrant violation of international law.
The AJK president who visited Shaikh Zaid Hostpital Rawalakot to enquire after the LoC firing victims here on Saturday said that the basic motive behind Indian aggression on the ceasefire line was stop AJK and government of Pakistan from supporting Kashmir cause. Expressing heartfelt sympathies with the LoC firing victims Khan said, “People living in forward areas close to the LoC are selfless defenders of our countryâ€.
Lauding the Pak armed forces for defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the AJK president said that Pakistan Army is the best army of the world and the entire nation was proud of this prestigious institution.
Meanwhile, Professor Maqbool Hameed who passed away yesterday was laid to eternal rest at her native graveyard at Chogali area of Rawalakot on Saturday. The deceased was a close relative of AJK President Masood Ahmed Khan and his wife Zuhra Masood. The funeral prayers of the deceased were attended by AJK president Masood Khan, member legislative assembly Sardar Khalid Ibraheem, Sardar Tahir and notables of the area. The Fateh for the departed soul would be held on Sunday at Chogali from 2 PM to 7 Pm.
