Islamabad : The Supreme Court has sought master plan of Islamabad from federal government while taking suo moto notice against tree cutting on Margallah hills.
A two member bench of apex court headed by Justice Azmat Saeed has conducted the hearing of the case and directed the federal government to review the extension project of Embassy road.
During the course of the hearing, Justice Qazi Fiaz Esa, a member of bench has observed that CDA is cutting the centuries old trees brutally. On one hand Margallah hills are being rescued while on the other hands, CDA is destroying.
He said that now there is no use of reviewing the Embassy road extension project as the trees have been cut adding that government is only worried about the Judges, Generals and Ministers.
Federal Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry told the apex court that Embassy road is being extended under the master plan of Islamabad. On which, the court has sought the master plan of the city.
Later, the court has adjourned the hearing till the third week of January, 2018.
