Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) while ordering for putting the name of SSP Malir Karachi Rao Anwar on ECL has directed him to appear before it in person on next hearing.
The next hearing of suo moto notice case of extra judicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsood will take place in SC on January 27 in Karachi. A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) took up for hearing suo motu notice case of extra judicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsood Tuesday.
Summon notices have been issued to IG Sindh, Advocate General and Rao Anwar. Earlier S C had fixed suo motu case for hearing on January 24 but now it has heard the case a day before and has ordered for placing the name of Rao Anwar in ECL. CJP remarked “ Rao Anwar is trying to go abroad. Interior ministry should put his name on ECL forthwith.
CJP inquired from Additional Attorney General (AAG) that report about kicking of Naqeebullah Mehsood was summoned. It is heard that JIT was formed but Rao Anwar is not appearing. Is Rao Anwar still SSP.
The court while ordering for placing the name of Rao Anwar on ECL put off the hearing of the case till January 27.
