Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Hyder Khan has said that as per the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s youth training scheme a number of training institutions have been setup in Azad Kashmir to train unemployed youth of the region.
The AJK premier expressed these views while addressing a function of students who had completed training under skill development program here at Kashmir house Islamabad on Thursday. He said that the initiative taken by the government would usher the region into a new era of progress and prosperity. He said that under this programe thousands of youth would be able to acquire productive skills.
Terming skilled youth as an asset for the country, Hyder said that equipping unemployed youth with productive skills was top priority of his government. He said that the skill development program would be instrumental in addressing the problem of unemployment in the region. He said that population of the region has swelled up to 42 lakh and it was almost impossible for the government to provide jobs and accommodate unemployed youth in government sector. He said there were already 2 lakh employees who have been accommodated in the government sector. He urged the youth to use their skill to serve the country besides creating further job opportunities the unemployed youth.
He said that unemployment rate in Pakistan was 4.5 whereas in Azad Kashmir unemployment rate was 15 percent. He said that in collaboration with New teak, AJK Toyota and other stakeholders government was making all out efforts to narrow down the unemployment rate in the region.
Speaking on the occasion Noureen Arif the Minister for Industries and Social Welfare said that AJK Toyota was successfully achieving its targets. She said that the incumbent government would utilize all its resources to provide best technical education to youth.
