ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has urged Afghanistan to fulfil its responsibilities towards protection of diplomats and regional peace and stability.
He was talking to participants of the 107th National Management Course in Islamabad today.
The President said Pakistan would extend fullest possible cooperation to the neighbouring country in this regard.
Mamnoon Hussain said Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan and Kabul will have to trust Islamabad.
The President said constitution provides unambiguous guidance for strengthening of democracy. It entitles people to choose a government of their choice through fair and transparent elections.
He said the parliament recently adopted an Election Act for improving the electoral process and system.
He said 18th Amendment has devolved more powers to the federating units. If there are any reservations, these can be addressed through a national dialogue.
The President said there are differences of opinion at political level on merger of FATA. He, however, said there is nothing to worry as dialogue and consultations lead towards more feasible proposals.
About CPEC, he said its route would not be changed and Balochistan would be its principal beneficiary.
