Islamabad:(Parliament Times) Appreciating Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s historic initiative regarding the enhancement of development budget for Azad Kashmir, Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that it was for the first time in history of AJK that the state’s development budget has reached 22 billion mark. The AJK premier made these assertions while addressing a high-level meeting of the party (PML-N Kashmir chapter) here on Saturday. The meeting was attended by all districts presidents, legislators and other office bearers of the party including Chudhary Tariq Farooq senior minister government of AJK, AJK Assembly speaker and general secretary of PML-N Shah Ghulam Qadir, Member Kashmir Council Abdul Khaliq Wasi, Chudhary Muhammad Ismaeel, Zulfiqar Malik and others. The participants of the meeting through a unanimous resolution expressed gratitude to Prime Minister of Pakistan for approving increase in development funds of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) from Rs. 11 billion to 22 billion rupees. Reiterating their pledge to execute and implement PM Sharif’s vision in the region they said that PML-N workers would play their pivotal rule to give practical shape to PM’s vision of making AJK a prosperous and welfare state thereby ensuring good governance and adherence to the principles of rule of law at all levels.
They resolved that in upcoming general elections in Pakistan, the PML-N workers would launch an effective campaign to make sure the party’s victory in 2018 elections. The participants also reposed their full confidence and trust over the leadership of Raja Farooq Haider Khan and his government’s performance. The participants on the occasion also congratulated the PM for pleading and presenting AJK government’s stance in the NEC meeting.
The meeting also condemned in strong terms the brute force used against peaceful protesters by Indian occupation Forces in Indian held territory of Jammu and Kashmir and urged the international community to take effective stock of the deteriorating political and human rights situation in the region. The meeting also urged the United Nations to shun its policy of indifference towards Kashmir and help resolve the lingering dispute in line with the globally accepted principle of right to self-determination.
