Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyet forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly denounced the oppressive tactics adopted by the occupation authorities against the Kashmiri people and resistance leadership.
The forum spokesman in a statement in Srinagar condemned the continued illegal detention of Hurriyet leader, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza. He said that the detention of several resistance leaders and hundreds of freedom-loving people was unfortunate and uncalled for, and only meant to break the will and resolve of the people.
The statement said that arrests of the resistance leaders, restrictions on their movement, and ban on their activities could not force them to give up their struggle.
The spokesman expressed serious concern over the arrest of dozens of youth in night raids in every nook and corner of the Kashmir Valley. He said that the arrests of youth by the Indian forces, night raids and harassment of people were undemocratic and meant to suppress the people with military might.
The spokesman expressed grief over the injuring of three children in a blast in Pazpora village in Sopore. He said that such tragic incidents were happening due to the unresolved Kashmir dispute which was cause of loss of precious lives and property.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League in a statement in Srinagar termed the detention of party Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, along with a worker and driver as the worst kind of state terrorism. He said that the puppet rulers had accepted defeat before the pro-freedom leadership.
On the other hand, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of India’s veteran Muslim leader, intellectual and senior member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board and All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat, Syed Shahab-ud-Din.
