Jammu : In occupied Kashmir, even pro-India National Conference leader and member of so-called Kashmir Assembly has demanded opening of Muzaffarabad road for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The National Conference leader, Mian Altaf, who is member of Assembly from Kangan, raised the point in the House while criticizing the increase in airfares from Srinagar to Delhi and other parts of India.
“The airfare from Srinagar to Delhi is Rs 90,000 and this government is in hibernationâ€, he added.
He advocated for opening the natural route of access i.e. Muzaffarabad so that the people from the valley who are either ill or are in need could be facilitated.
The statement is open acknowledgement of the fact that Srinagar-Rawalpindi route via Muzaffarabad is the natural access route for people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, another MLA from pro-India party, PDP, Javed Mustafa Mir speaking on a point raised by independent MLA from Udhampur Pawan Gupta said that demand for plebiscite was a valid demand and such comments inside the house cannot be expunged.
“Plebiscite was promised by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and I had raised this inside the assembly when Omar Abdullah was in power. Then expunge that alsoâ€, Javed Mustafa said.
