MUZAFFARABAD : (Parliament Times) Â In another violation of LoC ceasefire agreement, one civilian embraced martyrdom and four school children were injured when Indian troops targeted a school van in Nakial sector today (Friday).
The attack took place in Mohra Sharif village of Nakial sector, in which, driver of the school van identified as Afzal embraced martyrdom while four minors sustained injuries.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistani troops effectively responded and targeted Indian posts from where fire was coming.
Months of tension between India and Pakistan have erupted into shelling and gunfire across the disputed Kashmir frontier, claiming the lives of dozens of people, including civilians.
India has committed more than two hundred ceasefire violations this year, targeting Bhimber, Nakial, Battal, Jandrot, Neza Pir, Chakothi, Lipa, Taobat, Keran sector and other areas.
Reportedly, 39 people including ten women were martyred and more than 120 injured in unprovoked fire by Indian forces. Around 77 houses were also damaged, whereas, 300 families were forced to migrate to safer places.
Earlier on December 3, the newly-elected Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa vowed that any LoC violation will be responded with full force in the most effective manner.
Speaking to the troops during his visit to LoC, the Army Chief said Indian aggressive posture solely aims to divert attention of the world from atrocities being committed by their troops in Indian occupied Kashmir.
He said that core issue of Kashmir will have to be resolved between the two countries in the line with UN resolutions and aspirations of the people of Kashmir, for lasting peace in the region.
