ISLAMABAD: National Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has accorded approval to scale down power tariff by Rs 2.23 per unit.
The approval for reduction in power tariff has been given on the request of Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) .
The new tariff will take effect from December but consumers of K Electric will not be able to benefit from this relief.
According to NEPRA, CPPA had filed application seeking reduction in power tariff under fuel adjustment surcharge for the month of October.
According to application overall 10.17 billion units of electricity were generated at the cost of Rs 50.29 billion in October. As many as 2.54 billion Electricity units were produced at Hubb Furnace oil. The fuel cost per unit electricity production was estimated at Rs 7.33.
