Chakwal:Chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Imran Khan said on Saturday that disqualified Prime Minister was criticizing armed forces and the judiciary in order to save his ill-gotten wealth.
Addressing a public gathering here, he said that the dilapidated conditions of state institutions have the pivotal issue of Pakistan that not only hampered its development but also caused the wastage of resources. He claimed that if institutions would have come into order a huge amount could be saved.“Instead of answering for his crimes, he [Nawaz] keeps asking why he was ousted,” he said, adding that the former prime minister stole Rs300bn from the country. He said that Nawaz Sharif was crying for help before the Saudi kings to save his rule.
Blaming the incumbent government for the present circumstances of Pakistan, Imran said no country or leader will respect the nation as long as the country remains indebted and keeps seeking more loans from financial institutions. He added “Trump is insulting Pakistan over Rs25 billion because the country keeps taking loans.” “Nawaz Sharif stole Rs 300 billion of the nation and now asks why he was ousted. Rather than giving trail of his assets, he is ridiculing the institutions,” said Imran.
He alleged that two towers in UAE, owned by the Dar family, are worth Rs25bn. He further said Pakistanis have invested Rs800bn in UAE’s property market over the last four years and “this was the people’s money which was being stolen and taken out of the country”. Elaborating on his party’s conduct if it wins the upcoming polls, Imran said that Pakistan being a self-sufficient country will gather the money it needs from within Pakistan.Imran further said that the infrastructure projects developed by the Punjab government were not needed, as the “need of the hour was to provide employment to the youth”. “What they [Sharif family] did to the people of Pakistan, even our enemies would not do such things to us,” he added. He claimed that the ex-PM Nawaz Sharif begged for mercy during his recent visit to Saudi Arabia, calling him a thief and accusing him of disrespecting the national institutions.
He blamed Nawaz Sharif and held him responsible for the “disrespect of nation” after the allegations of US President Donald Trump. He said that those who give loan never give due respect. He stated that Pakistan sacrificed a lot of lives in war against terrorism while the US couldn’t succeed in Afghanistan despite 16-year struggle. He expressed disappointment at the statements of Trump, adding that the US has now alleged Pakistan of harbouring safe havens for terrorists due to its failure in war against terrorism. Talking about the governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he praised the provincial government of PTI, saying that they have improved the facilities in hospitals and schools while decreasing unemployment.
