AJ&K minister for Information, Tourism and Information Technology Mushtaq Minhas has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Munnu Bhai, a renowned journalist, columnist, poet and writer.
The Information minister lauded the role of Munnu Bhai in highlighting social issues, and praised his standards of humanity throughout his life. The information minister prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and to grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.It may be recalled here that the prolific writer, poet and intellectual Muneer Ahmed Qureshi Aka Mannu Bhai died on Friday at the age of 84 in Lahore.
Born in 1933 and hailed from Wazirabad, Munnu Bhai started his career by working as a translator for an Urdu language newspaper but eventually developed into a playwright and a dramatist. Appreciating his performance, he has been awarded Pride of Performance Award by the President of Pakistan in 2007 for his services to the nation.
