ISLAMABAD: Minister of State and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Marvi Memon has said BISP is a social safety program that endeavours to tackle poverty through multi-pronged strategy.
She was speaking at the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding between BISP and USAID-Punjab Youth Workforce Development Project for skill training of beneficiary family members of the program in Islamabad on Monday.
She said that the project will not only assist in poverty management, but also work to graduate its beneficiaries out of poverty through the cooperation of other government and non-government organizations.
Marvi Memon appreciated the design and strategies of Punjab Youth Workforce Development Project.
It is a three-year project which aims at training and providing employment opportunities to youth in Multan, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh and Bahawalpur districts of South Punjab.
