Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The liver transplant surgery centre set up in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) five years back has not been put to operation so far. .
The PIMS liver transplant centre has not been made operation due to non deployment of staff. Hospitals administration had sent a summary to Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif in connection with appointment of staff but reply from PM house is still awaited on this count.
The state of Art machinery and modern equipment worth Rs200 million has been dumped in store and has not been installed at centre. According to sources, some of the parts of Machinery have also been stolen from the Store.
As many as 95 appointments of staff members were required to be made to make the centre functional. .
Vice Chancellor SZABIST Dr Javed Akram has said that as soon as summary sent to PM in connection with appointments is approved, the staff will be inducted.
