Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders and organizations including Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Bilal Siddiqui, Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo and Jamaat-e-Islami of the territory have termed the killing of eight unarmed protesters in Badgam and Gandarbal districts as part of a well-planned genocide of Kashmiri people by India and its local collaborators.
Senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah while describing the people’s rejection of so-called parliamentary polls as referendum against India, in a statement in Srinagar said the election boycott is a slap on the face of New Delhi and its puppets. He urged the world bodies including the UN, EU, and OIC not to further delay the resolution of long-pending Kashmir dispute.
The Jammu and Kashmir National Front Chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, in a statement said, “Complete poll boycott frustrated the Indian authorities to the extent that they directed the men in uniform to shower bullets on protesters.â€
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, in a statement said that by rejecting the election drama Kashmiri people had conveyed a message to India that they did not want to live with New Delhi.
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement, Mir Shahid Saleem, in his statement termed the boycott of sham elections as a referendum against Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Muzahmat, Bilal Siddiqui applauding people for their commitment with freedom movement in a statement said, “Complete boycott should serve as an eye-opener for India and its puppets. It was a drama staged by puppets under the shadow of gun but while observing shutdown and the way the people boycotted the election serves a powerful message that they won’t forget their innocent martyrs and will never follow the killers of their innocents.â€
The Chief Patron of JKLF-R, Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo in his statement expressed his deep concern over the killing. He said that despite all these inhuman acts, people of Kashmir would pursue their struggle till its logical end.
The Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian government once again tried to mislead the international community through farcical elections, but Kashmiri people foiled this drama by sacrificing their lives. A team of Jamaat-e-Islami led by Advocate Zahid Ali visited the family members of the martyrs and expressed solidarity with them.
