Islamabad : A petition has been filed in Supreme Court (SC) seeking stay order against nomination of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as interim Prime Minister (PM).
Petition has been filed by the petitioner Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi taking the plea that Nawaz Sharif had become disqualified from parliamentary and party politics just after SC verdict , therefore he had no right to nominate Shahid Khaqan as interim PM.
The petitioner further said that LNG import matter was pending against Shahid Khaqan in NAB as he awarded LNG contract by violating PEPRA rules. Shahid also caused huge loss to national treasury by awarding LNG Contract.
The petitioner prayed to court that name of those involved in LNG Scandal including Shahid Khaqan should be put in Exit Control List (ECL).
It was also prayed that nomination of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as interim PM be stayed.
