Justice M. Tabassam Alvi sworn in as Chief Justice of AJK High Court and AJK Shariat Court

MIRPUR (AJK): (From Altaf Hamid Rao) Justice M. Tabassam Aftab Alvi, the senior most Judge of AJK High Court, Wednesday took the oath of dual offices of Chief Justice of Azad Jammu & Kashmir High Court and AJK Shariat Court, it was officially said.

President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir State Sardar Masood Khan administered the oath to the newly -appointed Chief Justice of AJK HC and AJK SC Justice M. Tabassam Aftab Alvi as the CJ of the two courts, at the President House in the State’s capital town on Wednesday.

AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, some of his cabinet colleagues, Members of the AJK Legislative Assembly, Judges of the AJK HC and the subordinate courts and the legal fraternity from various parts of AJK including office bearers of the bar associations, were also present on this occasion.

Earlier Secretary Law, Justice, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights Muhammad Idrees Tabassam separately read the official notifications about the appointment of Justice M. Tabassam Aftab Alvi as the Chief Justice of AJK High Court and AJK Shariat Court.

Later, the President of AJK Sardar Masood Khan and the Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan felicitated Justice M. Tabassam Aftab Alvi for taking over the charge of the offices of the Chief Justi
