ISLAMABAD: India’s High Commissioner was summoned to Foreign Office on Friday and a strong protest was lodged over the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces in Charwa Sector in Bini Sulariyan village last night.
In a statement, Foreign Office said the firing resulted in martyrdom of six civilians, including four females, and injured twenty-six others, including fifteen females and five children.
The Foreign Office said the Indian forces have carried out more than eight hundred and seventy ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary resulting in martyrdom of thirty-eight innocent civilians and injuries to one hundred and forty-two this year, as compared to three hundred and eighty-two ceasefire violations last year.
On the occasion, Pakistan’s acting Foreign Secretary Aitzaz Ahmed the deliberate targeting of civilians is indeed deplorable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights and humanitarian laws.
He urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 ceasefire arrangement, investigate all the incidents and instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire in letter and spirit.
