ISLAMABAD: (Parliament Times) Controversial T-Ten League has adversely affected Pakistan Super League(PSL)2018 as franchise owners are facing troubles in getting sponsors for its upcoming third edition which will be kick off in Dubai from 22 February.
A franchise owner of PSL has told on the condition of anonymity that if sponsors failed to materialize expectations of franchise owners for PSL than their estimated loss may increase.
He claimed that Pakistan Super League Secretariat of Pakistan Cricket Board had promised to franchise owners to extend its full support to them for PSL but after the passage of three years PCB had failed to fulfill its promise.
“All six franchises are now preparing for the upcoming PSL tournament but franchise owners are facing difficulties in getting sponsors because of bad timing T-Ten League hurt their income negatively and some sponsors were offering much less money”, he claimed.
While criticizing PCB’s decision to hold T-Ten league, he said that bad timing of T-ten league had adversely affected the market and many companies had consumed their budget in T-Ten League.
He further added that to participate in Pakistan Super League tournament a franchise had to bear approximately 300 million to 600 million rupees but now their income was very low to meet this expenditure.
He said that PCB Chairman Najam Sethi had claimed that audit for these two tournaments had been completed but nothing had been shared so far with media in this regard.
