Muzaffarabad: Cattle ranches for Eid ul Azha have been setup all around the country but not in Muzaffarabad until yet.
Administration and Municipal Corporation Muzaffarabad did not set any ranches for buying and selling of cattle. Chehla Bandi, Tali Mandi, Eid Gah road and all other places which were set for cattle ranches last year are still empty. Unavailability of ranches have made the masses despondent to find out cattle for Eid ul Azha sacrifice.
One of the citizen Junaid told this correspondent,” I have been finding a cattle for the last 3 days but I could find any cattle ranch in whole city. Estimated around 400 thousand population of capital city is facing the non-availability of cattle in the capital.
Another merchant in the city Basit Qureshi said that unavailability of ranches in the city is due to carelessness of MCM and district administration. “Merchants and citizens can not make ranches by themselves, MCM does this and charge tax on these cattle stations”, Basit added. Some individuals from side areas come and sell their cattle on roadside.
Non-availability of cattle stations has given free hand to pirate sellers and inter-mediators to earn more profit by looting customers on roadsides. Citizens of Muzaffarabad demanded government and district administration to bid on the cattle stations soon for the provision of cattle in nearby places.
