‘Detentions carried out to stop us from exposing NIA drama’

Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of the Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that the puppet authorities detained him and other Hurriyat leaders to stop them from exposing the NIA drama.

Senior resistance leaders, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Gilani, were placed under house arrest while Muhammad Yasin Malik was arrested and shifted to Central Jail Srinagar. The action was aimed at stopping the leaders from going to New Delhi and staging a demonstration outside the headquarters of India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) against its cruel policies regarding the people of Kashmir.

“Yasin in jail, Gilani sb & myself house arrested, roads leading to our homes sealed, curfew imposed, just to stop us from exposing the NIA drama!,” tweeted the Mirwaiz.

It is to mention here that the leaders were scheduled to fly to New Delhi, today, to stage a sit-in outside the NIA headquarter and court arrest there.
