LAHORE: (Parliament Times) – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is still making fun of meritas it is removing and employing people at will, with logics that only the board itself might be able to comprehend, reported Dunya News.
According to the rule, no official with salary over Rs 100,000 can be appointed without advertisement for the post but Bowling Coach Azhar Mahmood, drawing Rs 1 million from PCB, has been hired for two years without any advertisement.
Moin Khan was removed as manager and Mushtaq Ahmed as bowling consultant because the board does not allow a person to have two posts at the same time but when someone is to be obliged, the chief selector of junior team, Basit Ali, gets appointed as Women’s Team coach.
Head coach Mickey Arthur and Bowling Coach Azhar Mahmood are also parts of Karachi team management in Pakistan Super League.
Asad Raza is another example of the lack of merit in PCB. The young fast bowler took 10 wickets in one innings, and did hat-tricks twice. He also has most wickets, 42, in Under-19. Thus he became the best Pakistani bowler. But Basit Ali didn’t give him place in the 35-member squad.
