ISLAMABAD: Newly appointed Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing on Wednesday said during 2018 China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project will enter into a new era of all round development and expressed the hope that the project will be expanded to Afghanistan and Central Asia.
He was talking to Senator Mushahid Hussain who is also Chairman, Parliamentary Committee on CPEC, at the Parliament House today.Senator Mushahid Hussain warmly welcomed Yao Jing to the Parliament and said Ambassador Yao Jing is an old friend of Pakistan and he had served here on two occasions in the past. “Yao Jing knows Pakistan and the region very well” said Senator Mushahid Hussain and expressed the hope that during his tenure, Pak-China ties will be further consolidated and CPEC will make more rapid progress.
Ambassador Yao Jing termed Senator Mushahid Hussain as an old friend of China and thanked him for his contribution to Pakistan China relations.
Senator Mushahid Hussain said that CPEC was all about co-operation and connectivity, not just between Pakistan and China but also between countries of the region including Afghanistan and Central Asia.
Senator Mushahid also presented the report of the Parliamentary Committee on CPEC to the Chinese ambassador.
