Birmingham: Kashmir petition asking British Government to Support Demilitarization, Unification and Right of Self Determination for the people of Jammu Kashmir as promised under UN Resolution of 13th August 1948, has been publically launched by JKLC from Birmingham Council Chamber, once Petition has achieved required online signatures, then the petition will be debated in the British Parliament.
Launching event was chaired by Mirza Siddiq and presentation given by Najib Afsar the Chief Coordinator of JKLC who stated that JKLC will take this petition to every town in the United Kingdom and urged all delegates, they should promoted the petition among their family, friend and neighbors, he further stated the idea of the petition to bring awareness among our own people and international community that Jammu Kashmir issue is not bilateral nor territorial issue between India and Pakistan, it is the question of Demilitarization, Unification and Right of Self Determination as promised to our people in 1948. Further stated that international community must put pressure on India to stop atrocities against the innocents unarmed Kashmiris and that were are their voice.
Councilor Ansar Ali Khan stated that launching of this petition from the floor of European largest local authority is indication of seriousness of this petition and assured full support to JKLC, others speakers included Inam Ul Haq, Zubair Ansari, Mirza Aslam, represenative from Stop the War, Cllr. Fazal, Cllr. Zakir, Shama Rana Nazir, Ch. Khadim, Ch.Hanif, Khawaja Suleman, M.Amin, Zafar Qurashi, Haji Ramzan Ghore, Mujahid Iqbal, Ch.Majeed and many others spoke to support the petition and highlight the sufferings of Kashmiri people.
