Lahore: (Parliament Times)Â Â AJK president Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan has called on Governor Punjab Muhammad Rafeeq Rajwana at Governor House and discussed with him prevailing situation in occupied Kashmir, violation of human rights by India and diplomatic efforts at global level for peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue.
The president also took up problems of Kashmiri refugees settled in different parts of Punjab, issues of their residential colonies and the construction and improvement of roads linking AJK with the Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion President said that the people of Punjab province always stood with their Kashmiri brethren and even extended whole hearted support to the people of Kashmir in their struggle against the despotic regime of Mahraja Hari Singh. It was people of the Punjab who had given refuge to the influx of refugees from Kashmir in 1947-48 in different parts of the province.
The people of Kashmir, he added are highly indebted for their gracious help in different times of the history. The governor Punjab on the occasion assured that people of Pakistan and the government will continue to extend political, moral and diplomatic support to the freedom struggle of Kashmiri people. He said that Kashmir and Punjab are bonded together with common religion, culture, geography and political affinity. He added that no power on earth can detach them from each other. The Governor further said that Kashmiri refugees settled in the province are playing an important role for the development and progress of the province and government of the Punjab will spare no effort in resolving their problems on priority basis.
