Muzaffarabad: The Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (PM AJK) Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that enforcement of E-Governance can comfort masses besides making communication faster especially in far-flung areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The AJK premier made these remarks during a meeting of Information Technology (IT) Board AJK here on Monday. Director General IT Board briefed the Prime Minister about the on-going and completed projects by the said department.
Speaking on the occasion Prime Minister stated that E-governance is the basic need in this era of technology, “All administrative departments should be linked through internet to facilitate public and IT board must arrange for the facility of Video Conferences in district and sub-division offices”.
PM AJK reiterated that public sector departments must be facilitated with internet technology for the progression of structural system. “Central Secretariat should be made connected to all sub-offices in all districts of AJK; websites of all departments must be updated on time to let the public know about performance of institutes” he added.
Citing the example of E-Governance in Punjab, the PM said, “Government is following the model of Punjab Government in IT. “IT board AJK should make a liaison with IT board Punjab and strive for the improvement of E-governance, and incumbent government will provide all resources in this regard”, he said.
Prime Minister also spoke about the availability of fast and reliable internet service in all areas of AJK, adding that 3G and 4G service is certainly needed in the State especially in urban areas besides its availability for fast communication near Line of Control in case of any emergency.
