“Expresses grave concern over deteriorating HR situation in IHK”
Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) AJ&K Cabinet on Tuesday strongly condemned the unprovoked Indian firing along the Line of Control in different sectors of Azad Kashmir.
The Cabinet in its meeting held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan unanimously passed different resolutions calling upon the international community to take notice of the Indian aggression. The Cabinet paid rich tribute to citizens who embraced shahadat (martyrdom) as a result of Indian shelling. ‘’Indian shelling aimed at targeting civilian population on the LoC is a flagrant violation of international law’’, the Cabinet said.
The Cabinet expressed its distress over the silence of international community on the carnage in Occupied Kashmir by Indian brute forces saying that the people of Occupied Kashmir should not be considered alone and isolated, adding that Indian forces are targeting and killing the youth mercilessly. Terming Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle as indigenous and peaceful the cabinet urged global powers to exert pressure on India to stop targeting the civilian population residing in areas adjacent to Line of Control and working Boundary.
The AJK Cabinet also expressed grave concerned over the deteriorating human rights situation in the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Expressing deep concern over the Indo-Israel and US nexus against Pakistan the cabinet said, “Israel has assured India of its full support in case of war against Pakistan while US will be backing them”.
The cabinet meeting made it clear that Pakistani nation was fully prepared to face any kind of challenge to its sovereignty saying that the courageous armed forces of Pakistan were fully capable of defending the home land.
The Cabinet condemned the Lahore rally staged by the opposition in which Imran Khan cursed the Parliament.
The Cabinet asked Imran Khan to tender unconditional apology for his disparaging remarks. The Cabinet posed its full confidence in the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for putting the country on the path of development and prosperity.
“Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is the only leader who can change the destiny of the country by strengthening the defence, economy and socioeconomic condition of Pakistan”, the Cabinet said.
The Cabinet also expressed confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider and appreciated his continued efforts for establishment of rule of law, good governance and restoration of merit in the liberated territory. The Cabinet members condoled the death of Munno Bhai and paid rich tributes to his journalistic services for the restoration of democracy in the country.
Earlier the AJ&K Cabinet accorded approval of amendment in Local Government Act 1990 to hold local bodies’ elections in AJ&K and also for legislation for blasphemy laws in AJ&K as enforced in Pakistan.
The Cabinet constituted a committee headed by Law Minster to review the matters regarding de-awarding the crown land. Another committee headed by Minister for Revenue Sardar Farooq Sakindar was formed for leasing land in Ponch for cultivation of tea.
