Islamabad: The aftershocks of increase in POL prices have started without any delay as Twin-cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad and transporters plying at different long routes have increased the 10% fares without any fear and justification.
According to details, taxi and rickshaws have also increased their fares by 10 to 15 per cent after the fresh increase in POL prices. The Public Transport Authority (PAT) has so far failed to counter this alarming situation.
Transports plying at different long route including Express, Baloch, Skyway, Niazmi and other transport companies have 10% increased in fares. Without any notification, goods transporters have increased fares by 10 per cent and long route.
The government has revised prices of petrol by Rs4.6 per litre and fixed new rate Rs81.53 per litre. The price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs3.96 per litre and fixed new rate at Rs89.91 per liter. On the other hand poor commuters have demanded concern authorities should take notice of this station and provide relief to them.
On the other hand Rawalpindi/Islamabad Suzuki Union Association have strongly condemned increase in POL prices. They have warned to stop all public service vehicles if government not withdrawn increase of POL prices.
